Mommy Moment Monday

I am new to motherhood, but I have to admit, it is one of the greatest gifts ever.  It is also one of the most challenging, rewarding, frustrating, exciting, tiring, and loving roles a women can have.  I have always wanted to be a mommy, not just a mother, but a mommy.  Mommy has always seemed warmer, more lovable, more fun, and more needed than a mother did.  That is just my perception, and one that was formed very young; I am positive that there are Mothers out there who meet all my Mommy characteristics.  However, I still want to be Mommy to my children!  I was blessed beyond measure October 5, 2009, when Micah Reilly Noah Tiger was born, and he makes life spectacular in the most simple of ways.

Monday’s weekly series will focus on being a Mommy and all the ups, downs, and sideways moments that come with it.  Some will be sappy or silly, some bittersweet or joyous, some venting or boasting, but all will be real and unedited.  I will qualify now that, yes, I do think my son is an amazing child, but what Mommy doesn’t think that of their little one or ones?  I promise I will gush but I will also share the moments that make me want to pull my hair out.  Most of all, I want to share my heart and the love and joy that being a Mommy is all about.

Finally, I want to hear from all those amazing Mommies out there in the blogosphere and the moments that make being a Mommy the complete package that it is.  Sometimes all we need is a little encouragement to get us through one more tantrum or a pat on the back when we manage to make the perfect, crustless sandwich.  I hope these posts make being a Mommy a little funnier on those days when you long for alone time and a little sweeter when the hugs and kisses come for no other reason than you are Mommy!

So here is to Mondays being a mini Mother’s Day, if only for a moment. ~Heather
